About Whitley Bay Playhouse

Whitley Bay Playhouse is a theatre and entertainment venue on Marine Avenue, close to the seafront. Following a refurbishment costing around £8.5 million, it reopened as the flagship of a wider regeneration of the coastal resort. The auditorium seats 638, and the venue also offers a corporate viewing suite plus contemporary bars and lounge areas with sea views. Its year-round programme spans music and tribute concerts, comedy, family shows, dance and theatre productions, alongside corporate events and private hire. Group booking discounts are available for parties of ten or more, making it a busy cultural hub for the town.
