The Lough Ran is a family-run bar and bistro on Park View in Whitley Bay, opened by a local family who set out to create a comfortable and luxurious place to eat and drink. The interior takes its cue from the 1930s, with art deco styling, plush velvet seating and a flower wall. The menu runs to tapas-style small plates, charcuterie boards, hot stotties, burgers and full Sunday roast dinners, alongside a drinks list of classic cocktails, wine, champagne, gin and beer. It is dog-friendly, with treats offered at the bar, and holds a five-star food hygiene rating.
