Shampan is a multi-award-winning Indian restaurant and cocktail lounge at 185 Whitley Road, Whitley Bay. Run by Kamrul Hussain and his team, it serves traditionally cooked dishes capturing flavours from India, Punjab and Bangladesh, prepared by a head chef with over 20 years of experience. Accolades include Curry Life, National Curry and Euro Asia Curry awards, and it holds a five-star food hygiene rating. A gin and cocktail lounge operates on the floor above the restaurant. It is a popular, highly rated venue on the Whitley Road strip.
