About Whitley Bay Sporting Club

Whitley Bay Sporting Club is one of the largest grassroots football clubs in the North East, with more than 1,000 playing members across over 60 teams for the 2026-27 season. Founded in 1960 as Whitley Bay Boys Club and now a registered charity and FA Charter Standard club, it runs mixed mini and junior sides from Under 7s upwards, a strong girls' section with more than 25 teams, and adult men's sides. The club plays its home games at Monkseaton High School on Seatonville Road, which has full-size grass and floodlit facilities.

Beyond match days the club aims to provide sport in the community for children and young adults of every ability, and has more recently added walking football sessions for older players, both men and women, alongside its competitive teams in the Northern Football Alliance and local youth leagues. New players, coaches and volunteers are always welcome, with contact details and age-group information on the club's website.
