It aims to cultivate a thriving community space promoting sustainability, local food production and social inclusion, offering small vegetable plots and a polytunnel where residents can grow organic fruit and vegetables, alongside a community orchard. The site includes a wildlife area and community composting, and offers volunteering opportunities and space for community use, typically open for pre-arranged visits, events and open days. The orchard project has attracted external funding and been featured by BBC News.
