About Whitley Bay Big Local
Whitley Bay Big Local, part of North Tyneside Big Local, is a community-led charity that brings people together to take action across Whitley Bay and North Tyneside. Working with residents, groups and businesses, it delivers projects supporting regeneration and residents needing extra help, backed by a small paid team and more than 50 regular volunteers. Its Whitley Bay hub on Whitley Road houses a community cafe with an enclosed garden and play space, a surplus shop offering discounted produce and essentials, and space for hire. The charity also runs repair and reuse initiatives and home energy advice and community energy projects.
