Three folk giants — Billy Mitchell, Bob Fox and Jez Lowe — reunite as The Pitmen Poets for a national tour celebrating the songs, stories and heritage of North East England's coalfield communities. This is music from Billy Elliot country: tender, funny, and deeply rooted in the experience of the mining villages. The tour runs from Beverley to Sunderland, with this Whitley Bay date at the beautifully refurbished Playhouse on the coast. If you care about North East history and great folk music, this is unmissable.
