Birthday Party Venues in Whitley Bay

Whitley Bay has an unusually strong selection of children's birthday party venues for a town its size. Between the ice rink, the wave pool, Spanish City, and several soft play options, there is something for every age group and budget.

Whitley Bay Ice Rink — Skating Parties

Whitley Bay Ice Rink on Hillheads Road offers children's birthday party packages at £14.50 per head (minimum 10 children). The price includes a skating session followed by a hot meal and drink in the Events Suite. Disco party versions are also available. Waves Leisure Pool — Swimming Parties

Waves on The Links offers pool parties with the famous wave machine, racing slides, toys, floats, and the Rockhopper climbing feature. Choose between a Small Pool Party (£93.50, ideal for younger children) or a Main Pool Party (£241.00, with waves and slides for ages 8 and above). Pool parties include 45 minutes in the water. Spanish City — Kids Party Packages

Spanish City on the seafront offers children's party packages in one of the North East's most iconic buildings. Parties are welcome to bring their own cake, and Trenchers on site serves fish and chips with a children's menu. The dome and seafront setting make for memorable party photos. The venue can accommodate groups from small family gatherings to larger celebrations.

The Treehouse — Soft Play

The Treehouse on Whitley Lodge has been running soft play parties since 2010. The party package includes 1 hour 30 minutes of play across the 3-tier soft play frame and toddler area, at £12.00 per child (minimum 10). Suitable for children up to age 8. Saturday slots at 4pm, Sunday slots at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm. Party bags available for £1.50 per child. A cosy, well-loved venue with freshly baked food in the cafe.

Tynemouth Park — Adventure Golf and Inflatables

Tynemouth Park (a short drive or bus ride south) offers outdoor party packages with giant inflatable slides, a pirate maze, and dinosaur-themed crazy golf. The Greenhouse cafe provides catering. Minimum 15 people per party. Best in warmer months when children can make the most of the outdoor space.

North Tyneside Leisure Centres — Sports Parties

North Tyneside Council runs children's parties across its leisure centres, including options at nearby venues in North Shields. Sports hall sessions, swimming, and multi-activity packages are available depending on the centre.

Best for: Council-run sports and swimming parties across multiple North Tyneside venues.

Tips

Book the ice rink early. Weekend party slots are limited and fill up quickly — book at least a month ahead during term time.

Waves on a Sunday. Pool parties at Waves are not available on Sundays, so plan accordingly if that is your preferred day.

Combine venues. Spanish City works well as a post-party treat — skating at the ice rink followed by fish and chips on the seafront is a winning combination.
